  3. NNSC Announces New Edition

  5. The NSF Network Service Center (NNSC) began to  publish
  6. the  "Internet  Resource  Guide"  in  1989.  Its goal is to
  7. increase the visibility of the resources that are accessible
  8. via NSFNET and other parts of the Internet. It depends
  9. on the population of resource providers on the  Internet  to
  10. furnish the NNSC with the information for the guide.
  11.  
  12. The NNSC has recently finished an extensive update  of  many  of  the
  13. entries  to  the Guide, constituting a
  14. new November 1992 edition.  Charlotte Moors <nnsc@nnsc.nsf.net> who
  15. performs most of this work under the current contract arrangement
  16. with BBN hopes the
  17. guide will inspire its readers to  submit  descriptions
  18. of their resources for the guide.

  20. If you wish to submit a new entry to the  Internet  Resource
  21. Guide,  send a message to <resource-guide@nnsc.nsf.net>, and
  22. the NNSC will send you a template and instructions  for  preparing
  23. your entry.

  25. The Internet Resource Guide is  intended  to  help  Internet
  26. users  learn  what  services on the network are available to
  27. them. Each  service  is  listed  in  a  separate  section,   which
  28. describes  the  resource, explains who can use the resource,
  29. how the network is reached via the Internet and  lists  contacts 
  30. for more information.

  32. The guide is distributed electronically by the NNSC. To  get
  33. on one or more of the distribution lists for the guide, send
  34. a note to <resource-guide-request@nnsc.nsf.net>.

  36. +  The "text" list receives a Text (ASCII) copy  of  each
  37.    new or updated entry in an email message.
  38.  
  39. +  The "PostScript" list receives a  Postscript  copy  of
  40.    each new o updated entry in an email message.

  42. +  The  "ftp"  list  receives  announcements  of  new  or
  43.    updated  entries  that are available for anonymous ftp
  44.    on <nnsc.nsf.net>.
